Porsche 911 GT2 RS tears up downtown Los Angeles
Motorsports wizard Tanner Foust of the American version of “Top Gear” took a Porsche 911 GT2 RS on the closed streets of downtown Los Angeles during the History Channel show's second season.
For
those who missed it, Tanner was unimpressed after the obligatory
airstrip testing in the desert heat, so he moves the evaluation to LA
under the cover -- and cool weather -- of darkness. Thankfully, the cops
closed some streets down for him to do his thing, which includes a drag
race between the Porsche, an SRT Viper and a classic Chevy Nova.
The
Porsche 911 GT2 RS is the most extreme version of the 997. It delivers
612 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque from its twin-turbocharged Boxer-six
motor. Curb weight is just more than 3,000 pounds while terminal
velocity is rated at 204 mph. It costs nearly a quarter-million dollars,
but that's none of your concern … all examples have already been sold.
